> Born on 30 July 1964 in Göppingen, Jürgen Klinsmann (pictured right courtesy of Getty Images Sport/Lars Baron), ranks as one of the greatest in German soccer history.
> Klinsmann’s 108 international appearances and 47 international goals both rank second in Germany national team history.
> He won the 1990 World Cup and 1996 European Championship while playing for his country.
> In the summer of 2006 and before a home crowd, Klinsmann led his country’s national team to third place at the FIFA World Cup.
> In the summer of 2007, Klinsmann will take over from Ottmar Hitzfeld, becoming Bayern München’s head coach.

ATP Tennis Masters Series

> The ATP Tennis Masters is a series of nine high calibre men’s tennis tournaments.
> The Series was introduced in 1996, when it became known as the Super 9.
> In 2008, the Series consists of Indian Wells, Miami, Monte Carlo, Rome, Hamburg, Toronto, Cincinnati, Madrid and Paris.
> Andre Agassi holds the record with 17 career Tennis Masters Series tournament titles.
> The American recorded at least one championship in seven different venues, which is also a record.

Speed Skating

> The stage is a 400 metre oval, on which the skaters contest several distances in counterclockwise fashion.
> There are World Championships per distance, in Sprint (short distances) and Allround (combination of distances).
> At the 1980 Olympic Winter Games, American Eric Heiden took the gold in all five distances, an unmatched feat.
> At the 2006 Winter Olympics, female skater Cindy Klassen of Canada took home a whopping five medals.

Blue Square Football Conference

> The Conference is the highest tier of non-League English soccer and is sponsored by betting firm Blue Square.
> It consists of the Conference Premier and regional branches Conference North and Conference South.
> The Conference was founded in 1979 and currently consists of 68 soccer clubs.
> In the greater scheme of things, it represents the fifth and sixth level within the FA hierarchy.
> In 2007, Dagenham & Redbridge were crowned Conference National champions, earning the team a promotion to the fourth level division of League Two.
> In 2007, S&T's favourite team Exeter City were beaten at the new Wembley Stadium (sob) by Morecambe who took the second promotion slot.

Chicago Cubs (Baseball)

> The Chicago Cubs are a Major League Baseball franchise that was established in 1876.
> They play their home matches at Wrigley Field, which has served as their stadium since 1916.
> The Cubs have not won a World Series since 1908, making them the team with the longest championship drought.
> In 2007, the Cubs won the Central Division crown, only to be stumped 3-0 by Arizona in the playoffs.
> Cubs’ Hall of Fame members include Grover Alexander, Cap Anson, Rogers Hornsby, Bruce Sutter and Ryne Sandberg.
